Loki's Scepter from The Avengers by Vogelkop Loki's Scepter from The Avengers by Vogelkop
This has been a long time coming, but I am pleased to finally show the results of months of work. I was approached to create a replica of Loki's scepter from Marvel's "The Avengers" for a client. The piece was created in a combination of rotocast urethane resin and cold cast aluminum resin. The piece measures about 39 inches when filly assembled, and disassembles into two parts for ease of transport. The gem is lit by an embedded LED and battery access is located under the top-most plate. The blades and "steel" parts are cast in cold cast aluminum with acrylic and enamel weathering. The gold areas are cast hollow to minimize weight, and the piece weighs less than 4 lbs fully assembled.

I'll be completing the full length spear version seen during Loki's fight with Thor on the roof of Stark tower over the next few weeks as well.

Out of curiosity do you still do commission for these?

Amazing! I'm just curious about the price.. If it's possible to make another replica how would it cost?

damn.... I'm impressed! I only wish I had the equipment/shop/money to buy the stuff needed to make this.... and if I did, I'd make the costume too (male Loki, not female version)... and IF ... IF I were ever able to obtain tix to comicon, I'd swear I would have died and gone straight to Valhalla! A girl can dream right?

Do you sell your props or are they only for your usage only? If you do sell, what would this scepter run for? And would you be willing to make the long version of this scepter? I'm sure it would cost more - but I'm just curious as to how much one would charge for a damn good replica of the real thing.

Thanks!
